Shane's Days

The weekend has come and gone, and here we sit on hump day. I had an amazing weekend with Kent. Lots of love, laughs and food. Saturday we managed to eat A LOT. Which is strange to say considering my appetite has increased 5 fold. I think hot yoga 5 times a week coupled with the raw diet has my body working over time to break down and process the raw foods I've been eating. Without all the pre-packaged, pre-processed junk going into me my metabolism is in over drive.

Today...well today I got my ass kicked at yoga. Think hot (42C/105F) baptiste yoga + pilates + hand weights and then you have yoga sculpt. 75 minutes later and my everything hurts. Long story short I had a salad. Simple yet simply delicious although nothing to brag about.

It's bow tie Tuesday! Or, it is if you're me. Today came and went in a sort of blur. I find I'm not having to sleep as much sleep as I used to "need". I wake up easier and with more energy than ever before. Which is great considering going "raw" means prep, prep, prep in order to eat - and I loves me some eating. I neglected to look at what we had planned for our dinner tonight so it's currently in the dehydrator. It's going to be a raw, nutty quiche of sorts on an almond flat bread crust. Judging from the tastes I took while making it (and there were many) it's going to be fairly fantastic. Post and pics of said quiche to come.

Soooooo I missed a day or two there. Here's a re-cap. Things are great! Although the personal posts were missing the recipe/meal posts are up so you can see we've been busy. Saturday I found myself on an 18km hike and today was hot yoga in the afternoon. I've never had more energy in my life. I was tired and sore at yoga today but I can pretty much guarantee that's from the massive hiking trip and not my change in diet. Tonight's dinner was excellent, though I probably could have done with eating only one lemon square instead of two (I'm weak willed!)

Day 3 and look at me! (ok that was funnier in my head) Today I feel fantastic, I have loads of energy, my mood is solid and positive. Everything seems to be going well. Dinner came late today since I had an eye appointment. Who got contacts for the very first time? This guy right here. Everything is so HD now and it's messing with my perceptions a bit. Anyways, dinner was incredible and one I'd definitely make again both for myself and for other people. My version was slightly different than Kent's, he'll be updating his portion soon to give you all the delicious details. Stay tuned for more treats.

It may only be day 2, and maybe it's the fact that we're finished with the juicing part of the first two days and finally back on solid food (Mmmm solid food) but - I feel amazing! I've had so much energy all day and been in an exceptional mood. Dinner went off without a hitch and I'm really looking forward to day 3 of the challenge.

After a full work day of juice it's pretty safe to say I'm hungry. Not "hangry" (that's when you're so hungry you get angry by the way), but definitely wouldn't mind a meal. I have a hot yoga class in an hour and will definitely be taking it easy, however 250mls of juice every few hours has been holding me over surprisingly well. I'm fairly alert mentally and haven't felt overly tired at any point in the day.

  1. Hey hey, no day skipping. You should try to get in the habit of posting every evening or the following morning. :) Keep it up!
